Locums Plastic Surgery Physician

A Level II Trauma Center in Jackson, Michigan is seeking a Locums Plastic Surgery Physician to provide 24-hour call coverage for a well-established surgical practice. This opportunity is ideal for a fellowship-trained plastic surgeon with experience in trauma call, reconstructive procedures, and the management of both adult and pediatric plastic surgery cases.

The physician will provide consultative and surgical coverage for trauma-related injuries, facial trauma, and general plastic surgery needs while collaborating with a multidisciplinary hospital team.

Position Details

Practice Setting: Hospital-Based

Schedule: 24-Hour Call Coverage

Call Requirement: Approximately 7 days per month

Weekend Coverage: Required

On-Call Coverage: Required

Call Back Structure:

24-hour shift

Includes 4 hours gratis callback time

Clinical Responsibilities

Provide 24-hour plastic surgery call coverage

Evaluate and manage trauma-related plastic surgery consultations

Perform reconstructive and general plastic surgery procedures

Provide coverage for both adult and pediatric plastic surgery patients

Collaborate with trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, hospitalists, and surgical staff

Participate in inpatient consultations and follow-up care

Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Required Procedures

Candidates must be comfortable performing:

Plastic surgery trauma cases

Adult plastic surgery procedures

Pediatric plastic surgery procedures

General plastic surgery

Facial laceration repairs

Scar revision procedures

Skin grafting

Local and regional flap reconstruction

Facial trauma surgery and facial reconstruction procedures

Trauma call coverage and emergent plastic surgery interventions

Qualifications

MD or DO required

Fellowship-trained Plastic Surgeon required

Board Certified in Plastic Surgery required

Active Michigan medical license required

Current ACLS certification required
