Software Engineer
Software Engineer
Location: Detroit, MI (On the Factory Floor)
Position Type: Full-Time, In-Person
About NOX METALS
NOX METALS exists to reindustrialize America by rebuilding the nation’s industrial supply chain from the ground up. We are creating the modern metals supplier that is fast, software-driven, and built to arm the factories that power our economy. By delivering certified domestic metal at unprecedented speed and scale, we strengthen the industrial base and give American manufacturing the tools to win.
Position Overview
As a Software Engineer at NOX METALS, you will be a core member of the founding team working hands-on, side-by-side with factory operations. Your focus will be building and iterating quickly—developing software solutions that have a direct impact on the efficiency and performance of our factory floor. This is a unique opportunity to help define the technical foundation of a modern, industrial business in its earliest days.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with factory operators and leadership to deliver impactful software in real time
Rapidly design, build, test, and deploy software and automation tools for the factory floor (inventory, workflows, data capture, machine interfaces, etc.)
Gather feedback from users directly and iterate quickly to solve real operational challenges
Lead by example with a hands-on, in-person engineering mindset—this is not a remote or purely office-based role
Help set and maintain high standards for code quality, reliability, and documentation
Requirements
Entrepreneurial spirit; excited to take ownership and be part of a founding team
Proficiency in relevant programming languages and software development best practices
Strong ability to work and adapt in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
Willingness to work in-person, on-site, embedded with factory staff in Detroit
Comfortable working on the factory floor, engaging directly with production operations
Strong communication skills and team mindset
Benefits
Direct impact, significant ownership, and unique learning as part of the founding team
If you are driven to build fast, make a real difference, and help shape the future of American manufacturing, we want to hear from you.
