As we continue to grow, we are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented New Business Associate to join our Brighton team.

Role Overview

The New Business Associate plays a key role in supporting advisors and ensuring a smooth, efficient new business process across AUM, annuities, and life insurance. This position focuses on three core areas:

  • New Business Processing: Manage applications, transfers, and funding from submission through completion, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Case Coordination: Work closely with advisors, clients, custodians, and carriers to move cases forward and resolve outstanding items
  • Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure all submissions meet custodial, carrier, and regulatory requirements while minimizing errors and delays

This is a highly detail-oriented, process-driven role requiring strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Advisory (AUM) New Business

  • Prepare, review, and submit new advisory account applications (individual, joint, IRA, trust, and retirement accounts)
  • Process incoming and outgoing Transfers of Assets (TOAs)
  • Monitor account status, alerts, and not-in-good-order (NIGO) items through funding and completion
  • Assist with account updates, corrections, trust documentation, and beneficiary changes
  • Ensure all submissions meet custodial and compliance standards prior to processing

Annuity New Business

  • Prepare, review, and submit new annuity applications, premium additions, and 1035 exchanges
  • Coordinate documentation between advisors, clients, and insurance carriers
  • Track cases through carrier review, approval, and funding
  • Resolve NIGO items in a timely manner by working directly with carriers and advisors
  • Ensure suitability, replacement disclosures, and state-specific requirements are satisfied

Life Insurance New Business

  • Support cases from application through policy issuance
  • Coordinate underwriting requirements, including medical exams and carrier requests
  • Track underwriting progress and provide timely updates to advisors and clients
  • Review issued policies for accuracy and completeness
  • Manage policy delivery requirements and client acceptance

Advisor & Client Support

  • Serve as a primary operational contact for advisors regarding new business status
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding documentation, signatures, and next steps
  • Provide guidance on firm processes and documentation standards
  • Support advisors through workflow updates and operational changes

Compliance, Quality & Process Support

  • Ensure all new business adheres to firm policies, custodial requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation for audit and compliance purposes
  • Proactively identify and correct errors to reduce NIGO rates
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies

Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services, operations, client service, or new business processing preferred
  • Familiarity with advisory accounts, annuities, and life insurance products strongly preferred
  • Experience working with custodians and insurance carriers a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented mindset
