The DSC Negotiator is responsible for managing and negotiating debt settlement opportunities with third-party debt settlement companies. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain professional partnerships. The ideal candidate is confident on the phone, skilled in written communication, and experienced in negotiation strategies within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound and inbound calls with debt settlement companies to negotiate account resolutions and settlement terms
  • Manage ongoing communication via email and phone to ensure timely follow-up and resolution
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with debt settlement partners
  • Review and analyze account details to determine appropriate negotiation strategies
  • Track and document all account activity accurately within internal systems
  • Ensure all negotiations and communications comply with applicable regulations, including FDCPA guidelines
  • Meet or exceed performance metrics related to settlement rates, productivity, and quality standards

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in debt settlement or collections negotiations, or a related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of FDCPA and other applicable compliance regulations
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong written communication skills, including professional email correspondence
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Customer service experience required

  • Experience working with debt settlement companies or agencies
  • Strong negotiation skills with a results-driven mindset
  • Ability to manage high-volume workloads while maintaining accuracy
  • Experience working with scripts.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
