The Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in a medium-sized kitchen team (6-15 members) within a casual dining environment. This position is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and safety standards, and supporting culinary innovation through recipe development. The Sous Chef supervises and trains kitchen staff, maintains inventory, and coordinates orders to deliver a seamless dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee food production to maintain high culinary standards
- Supervise and train line cooks and kitchen staff
- Manage inventory and coordinate orders to ensure kitchen efficiency
- Maintain quality control and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with the team to develop new recipes and menu items
- Ensure smooth kitchen operations through effective team collaboration
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in culinary arts
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards
- Demonstrated team leadership skills
- Proven strong cooking skills
