What you’ll do Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:- In collaboration with Data Engineers in the Quality Department and other stakeholders in the organization (e.g. IT and RnD), define the data configuration necessary to implement uses cases with a high potential impact in terms of customer satisfaction and warranty payments
- Leverage different data sources (on-site / off-site / connected car) and combine them dynamically to understand and identify trends and relationships
- Analyze data in a way that can summarize past events in a visual and understandable form
- Gather and harmonize unstructured data sources (e.g. brownfield internal IT systems, social media, …) to achieve rapid response in decision making processes
- Identify quality gaps in the available data, discarding non-valuable data sets and cleaning them, ensuring continuous improvement of data quality through requirements definition
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.
- The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software or Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience
- Experience in Big Data projects in industrial environments; automotive experience preferred
- Strong knowledge and expertise in statistical tools (e.g. R, SAS, Excel, etc.)
- Excelling on data warehousing, cloud-based storage systems and ETL processes
- Experience in collecting data from various sources (e.g. brownfield available data bases, APIs, web, etc.), automatically and efficiently
- Programming language skills (e.g. Python, SQL, etc.)
- Knowledge of data cleaning and preparation (identification of inaccurate data sets, transformation of raw data into structured formats for analysis, …) to ensure its consistency and reliability
- Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence tools for creating visual reports and supporting dashboards (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Excel, etc.)
- Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and writing
- Strong problem-solving skills and capability to work in multidisciplinary environments
- Ability to identify tasks, develop methodologies and plans; execute with minimal supervision and own assignments to ensure the project success
