Job Description

We are seeking dedicated General Laborers to join our team at a company specializing in construction materials. This position involves handling various physical tasks to support our operations, such as loading and moving materials, cleaning work areas, and operating machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Load bags of sand, slag, and other base concrete mix materials into loaders to feed into tanker trucks.
  • Move pallets on and off trucks, and stack pallets of finished products.
  • Shovel sand, slag, and other concrete mix materials.
  • Clean the work area efficiently and safely.
  • Break up rocks using appropriate tools.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions for the entire shift.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and squat for the duration of the shift.
  • Capability to wear a respirator when required, ensuring a proper fit against the skin.
  • Shift flexibility, with training on the first shift and potential movement to night shifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in general labor, construction, or a refrigerated/freezer environment.
  • Familiarity with using power and hand tools.
  • Punctuality and reliability are crucial.
  • Adherence to safety protocols, including maintaining a clean work area and not using phones during shifts.

Work Environment

The work environment involves outdoor conditions, requiring appropriate dress for weather variations. Personal protective equipment, such as respirators and coveralls, is provided by the company. Work boots are required, but they do not need to be steel-toed. Employees should be prepared for physically demanding tasks and adhere to a no-phone policy during shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
