Corn Cook
Location: Grand Rapids, MI Shift: 3rd Pay: $18.50 per hour
Job SummaryAre you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a new opportunity? We’re seeking a Corn Cook to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of our operations, helping us to cook and monitor corn to ensure proper consistency of the product. Lift 50 lb. bags of corn and work in a very warm environment. They will be responsible for filling the tanks with bagged corn or corn from the silo. They will be lighting the gas lines using a propane torch. They will add water and lime, and then stir the tanks using a hand paddle to mix the corn throughout the cooking process.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Corn Cook , your core responsibilities will include:
Monitor temperature during the cooking process using a thermometer and make adjustments to the flame as needed.
Add water and lime and stir corn with a paddle to ensure that it cooks evenly.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment and adhere to GMP guidelines.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
Experience in batch work or mixing room as a mixer.
Experience in food manufacturing preferred, 1-3 months related experience required.
Must have knowledge and experience with a weight scale.
Skills:
Must be able to do basic math (add, subtract, divide and multiply).
Able to lift up to 50 lbs max.
Perform product quality checks.
