Project Engineer
Project Engineer - Exterior Systems (Bumper, Grille, Fascia & Trim)
Location: Warren, MI (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: $64.00/hour
Duration: 1-Year Contract (Likely to Be Extended Annually)
Schedule: 1st Shift | 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM EST

Position Overview
- Responsible for design and release engineering of bumper, grille, fascia and trim components.
- Support new product development, program launches, and continuous product improvement activities.
- Manage component development while collaborating with studio, program, manufacturing, purchasing, supplier quality, and supplier teams.
- Own assigned parts and ensure milestones, quality targets, and timing requirements are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and release activities for exterior vehicle components.
- Manage component development from concept through production launch.
- Lead Product Development Team (PDT) activities and issue resolution efforts.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Drive quality improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and design optimization.
- Maintain and manage engineering documentation and parts lists.
- Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly cross-functional meetings.
- Work closely with suppliers, DREs, engineering designers, technical specialists, and design studios.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of engineering experience.
- Design and release engineering experience.
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive industry experience.
- GM systems experience.
- Experience with exterior automotive components.
- Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.

Work Environment
- Hybrid schedule with onsite work typically Tuesday through Thursday.
- Open office environment with high team interaction.
- Occasional travel within the U.S., Canada, or Mexico (typically less than 20%).
