We are the behavioral health community organization responsible for the delivery of mental health, substance abuse treatment coordination, and developmental disabilities services for Kent County. We are seeking a Safety and Training Specialist to serve as Lead Trainer for all safety-related topics and assist with developing and leading a robust Safety and Emergency Preparedness Program, including relevant training, in collaboration with Facilities and Training leadership .
This position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position Is remote with occasional local travel. The individual in this position will attend multi-day training and conferences as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience in health and safety and training, or related field.
· Working knowledge of best practice standards for building safety; fire, severe weather and general workplace safety.
· CPR First Aid certified, or an ability to obtain certification within ninety (90) days of hire.
· Experience and ability to deliver training material in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
· Experience delivering training for adult learners.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong presentation skills; well-developed public speaking skills.
· Ability to effectively teach and communicate with a variety of people and organizations.
· Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities.
· Commitment to treating all staff and learners with dignity, respect, and inclusion.
· Strong working knowledge of the principles of trauma informed care.
· Experience in presenting digital content such as videos and PowerPoint presentations.
Any combination of education, training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job will be considered. Equivalency for relevant education is two years of related work experience equals one year of education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Certification in physical management intervention and de-escalation courses such as MANDT or CPI.
· CPR and First Aid Instructor License.
· Completion of OSHA 30-hour General Industry training.
· Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
