Inspection Technician | Plainwell, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of manufactured components.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Document inspection results accurately, including pass/fail status and defect details.
• Identify and report non-conforming materials or products to quality management.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and quality specifications to ensure product compliance.
• Conduct first article, in-process, and final product inspections.
• Maintain calibration and proper functioning of inspection tools and equipment.

Recommended Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality control or inspection role.
• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including GD&T.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality control principles.
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills for identifying product non-conformities.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation.
• ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification.
• Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation or programming.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
