Swim Lesson Instructor

Outdoor Aquatic Center Season begins early-May to early-September

Indoor Pool is open all year long

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum age 16 years

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the daily duties including but not limited to: teaching lessons, lesson preparation (includes planning, set-up & clean-up), customer service, facility upkeep and special events.

SUPERVISION:

The Instructors will report directly to the Pool Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Responsible, courteous, good communication skills, good work ethic and ability to work without close supervision, and works well with young children. Must possess a sense of pride and accomplishment with one's work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lessoning planning & teaching
   1. Create a lesson for assigned classes
   2. Have teaching equipment out prior to class & put away at the end
   3. Teach to certification standards
2. Assess student's progress
   1. Provide an assessment of skills to participants and parents
   2. Give recommendations on proper class placement
   3. Fill out skills sheets
3. Facility Upkeep
   1. Cleaning of facility & lock rooms
4. Assist with special events and facility operations
5. Communicate with other staff and customers in a courteous and professional manner
6. Enforce facility policies and procedures
7. Comply with City of Troy and County regulations and policies
8. Any other related duties as assigned by supervisors

COMPENSATION:

Work hours are determined by pool operation hours

HOURS

Year Around- must be able to work 5 hours per week.

Summer Seasonal-must be able to work 12 hours per week.

STARTING SALARY: $14 /HR
