Engineering Analyst

job summary:
Join our utility construction team in the lower eastern peninsula of Michigan as a Senior Engineering Technical Analyst. In this fully on-site role, you will integrate with operations and construction teams to oversee large gas distribution replacement projects. Your primary responsibility is leveraging GPS and GIS technologies to ensure accurate positional verifications and asset documentation directly in the field.

Candidates must have an applicable background ranging from a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience, an Associate degree with 6+ years, or a High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience, including utility locator background. An OSHA 10-hour Construction Certification meeting MIOSHA Part 10 regulations is required, along with safety training in excavation, CPR, and traffic control. You must also be willing to travel daily to regional jobsites and work four 10-hour shifts with potential weekend overtime.

  • Utilize GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS Pro/Map) and GPS antennas to collect as-installed natural gas asset data.

  • Support field construction teams by performing positional verifications and managing relevant spatial data.

  • Document in-field changes and maintain strict revision controls for integrated hardware and application systems.

  • Participate actively in pre-construction meetings, operating reviews, and technology demonstrations.

  • Safely transport and operate field equipment (ladders, GPS gear, laptops) across various on- and off-road construction sites.
