General Summary

Provide a collaborative and inclusive approach to spiritual care by ministering holistically to the needs of patients, their families, clinical/medical staff and administration. Reports to the Manager of Spiritual Care.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides spiritual care and counsel for emotional and spiritual distress to patients, their families, associates and others with attention to diverse spiritual orientations and cultures.
• Provides care to the local hospital and community through leading rituals, blessings and liturgies, and arranging for or performing sacraments.
• Participates and collaborates with other clinicians in the delivery of holistic patient care to patients and families
• Maintains relationships with team members through regular visitations and communication to provide spiritual support as needed
• Builds and maintains relationships with religious leaders in the community to provide necessary support outside the realm of the in-house spiritual care team

Licensure/ Certification/ Registration

• Board Certification from APC, SCA, NACC, CASC, or the NAJC at time of hire or board certified eligible

Education

• Master's degree in divinity, Theology, or a related field from an accredited school is required.
• 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education
• 3-5 years of healthcare experience as a chaplain is preferred.
