Salary: $75,000 - $90,000
Position Summary: The Clinical Manager, under the supervision of the Executive Director, is responsible for the oversight of the provision of care consistent with Omega House core values, mission, and vision and in alignment with hospice best practices.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse, BSN preferred
- Currently licensed in Michigan
- 5 years experience in clinical or community health/hospice setting
- Leadership/managerial experience required
General Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competence in use of standard office equipment & software (Computers, Fax, phones, Excel, Word etc.)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Able to deal effectively with stress, interpersonal issues of staff and residents, grief and loss issues
- Abie to work independently and with initiative and little supervision
- Working knowledge of hospice philosophy and principles
- Some flexibility with hours (may need to work some evening, night or weekend hours)
- Good Teamwork skills
- Must be able to accept a variety of personalities and viewpoints and respond appropriately and professionally
- Must be able to handle occasional conflict
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of employees, volunteers, residents, and families in accordance with Omega House policies and procedures and HIPPA regulations
- Must be reliable with work attendance
- Must have a valid Michigan drivers license
Physical Requirements:
- Requires the ability to perform proper body mechanics
- Requires occasional climbing, crawling, sitting, balancing, bending, stooping, reading, standing, and walking
- Requires lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity and mobility
- Sensory perceptions: visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written and verbal communication, able to detect odors and speak fluent English.
Working Conditions:
- Potential exposure to body fluids and airborne contaminants
Functional Duties/Responsibilities:
- Mentor co-workers in the development of exceptional clinical skills through application of hospice best practices
- Demonstrates familiarity with rapid cycle improvement and just culture strategies
- Able to conduct crucial conversations
- Works with the local hospice agencies to coordinate care for the residents
- Ensure medication security
- In charge of the hiring process
- Conducts staff meetings and provides educational and staff development opportunities
- Coordinates and supervises new hire clinical orientation
- Conducts 30, 60, 90-day new employee reviews
- Evaluates clinical staff performance on an ongoing basis with development of performance improvement action plans as necessary.
- Conducts yearly performance evaluations of clinical staff
- Handles incoming phone calls and greets incoming staff, volunteers, visitors etc.
- Assess potential residents for admission appropriateness
- Serve as a point of contact, advocate, and provide informational resources for residents, family, care team and community
- Develops and implements clinical policies and procedures in collaboration with the Clinical Operations Committee
- Develops, maintains and monitors (in collaboration with the Clinical Operations Committee) the medical record system which includes documentation of care provided by the clinical staff.
- Develops, implements, and monitors quality improvement indicators to ensure safe and effective resident care
- Development of staff schedules and scheduling policies
- Overseas the cleanliness & maintenance of the facility
- Assists with Omega House fundraising activities and events
- Provide managerial oversight in the absence of the Executive Director
- Other duties as directed/assigned by the Executive Director
