Music Specialist - Long Term Care
Music Specialist in a Long Term Care
Energetic, creative, motivated, responsible, enthusiastic, and kind. We are seeking an individual who hones all of these qualities and will deliver great music program. Organization and communication are also key skills displayed in our ideal candidate.
Job Description:
- Independently running music programs that meet the interests of the residents.
- Engage new residents to determine their interests.
- Work directly with resident on the penthouse, in the unit dayroom and hallway.
- Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested.
- Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activities.
- Be familiar with established emergency procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 2 years experiences working with the geriatric population. Music or related field.
- Must be upbeat, energetic, enthusiastic, and have a caring personality.
- Reliable, professional, and dedicated to providing quality music session.
- Passion for helping others through music.
- Great customer service skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication, leadership, time management, decision making and motivation skills.
- Must be available to work weekends.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Basic computer/ data entry Ability.
- Must have knowledge of diverse programming to meet needs of residents.
- Bilingual is a plus (Spanish, Russian, Chinese).
Shift and Schedule:
- Per Diem (3 Days a week).
- Must be available to work Sat and Sun.
Work Location: Forest Hills, NY.
Job Type: Contract.
Pay: $30-50.00 per hour (Based on experience).
