JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) SME will provide comprehensive support for the planning, training coordination, and execution of JTAC training events as part of a large-scale readiness training exercise. This role involves developing and coordinating training scenarios, ensuring safety and mission briefings, and serving as a liaison between various units and stakeholders during the training exercise.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop Weapons Danger Zones for air-to-ground munitions and surface-to-surface fires to create safe and challenging live-fire scenarios.
- Coordinate with Alpena CRTC, Camp Grayling Operations personnel, Exercise Plans Group leadership, and Range Control to facilitate training.
- Facilitate Integration, Interoperability, and Interdependence of Joint, Combined, and Coalition Forces with respect to CAS operations.
- Observe and support Air to Ground Integration (AGI) training, focusing on JTAC training in accordance with relevant joint doctrine.
- Provide operational and logistical support, including the reception and bed down of non-flying, CAS-related units.
- Serve as an Exercise Control Group (ECG) liaison between CAS units and other exercise participants.
- Conduct safety and mission briefings, ensuring compliance with range regulations.
- Develop and publish training plans, assist in developing CONOPs, Range Safety plans, and meet administrative requirements for training.
- Coordinate with fires, maneuver, and aviation planners on JTAC use during exercises.
- Liaise with air component planners on mobility, Air Interdiction (AI), and personnel recovery (PR).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in JTAC operations.
- Experience as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller Instructor (JTAC-I) and preferred experience as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller Evaluator (JTAC-E).
- Experience with Special Forces units and as a Fire Support Officer (FSO) in a Division or Brigade echelon.
- Expertise in Mission Command, The Military Decision-Making Process, and other Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP) functions.
- Proficient in planning and executing training scenarios involving BDOC operations, FORCEPRO measures, and other Protection functions.
- Familiarity with systems such as ADSI, AMDWS, AFATDS, TAIS, and others relevant to JTAC and Protection operations.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with Army and Joint Protection Doctrine.
- Experience in joint, multinational, decisive action environments.
- Previous participation in large-scale military exercises or training events.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel as required to various locations within the 54 states and territories and District of Columbia.
