CNC Lathe Operator (2nd Shift)

Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)

Location: [Rochester ]

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay rate: $17.50-$18.25

They will need to train on 1st shift for min 1 week to max. 2 weeks.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Operator to join our 2nd shift production team. In this role, you will be responsible for loading raw steel parts, running established machining programs, and ensuring all finished pieces meet our high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Efficiently load raw steel parts into the lathe, execute the machining program, and safely unload finished parts.
• Quality Control: Perform routine operator inspections on finished parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications and quality standards.
• Tool Maintenance: Change perishable tools (inserts) and "size the part back in" to maintain accuracy (training provided).
• Fluid Management: Monitor and replenish water-based coolant and machine lubrication oil throughout the 8-hour shift.
• Production Goals: Meet a daily production target of 130 pieces per shift while maintaining safety and quality standards.

• Attire: Appropriate, durable work clothing suitable for a manufacturing environment.
• Footwear: Non-slip work shoes or boots (required on the shop floor).
• Safety Gear: Standard safety glasses.
• Storage: A small toolbox or box to store your daily tools.

Note: All necessary job-specific tools and equipment required to perform your daily tasks will be provided.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability for the 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods and handle repetitive lifting of steel parts.
• A willingness to learn, receive feedback, and follow safety protocols.
• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude are highly preferred.
