Job Summary:
The Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital will give our community its first-ever wellness destination. Our families and friends will have improved access to nutrition education, exercise resources and state-of-the-art care like they never have before. We offer over 200,000 square feet and has 58 acute care beds in our new state-of-the-art regional hospital. Our campus also features an organic farm with access to nutrition, education and therapies. We will serve as a community hub that touches residents of all ages and promotes a higher quality of life. This is a new model of collaboration between ProMedica and the community. We are excited to set a new standard for health and wellness in Lenawee County.
The Veggie Mobile Driver drives the scheduled weekly route with the Veggie Mobile throughout Lenawee County to improve access to fresh and affordable produce. Assists in ProMedica Farms operations with hoop house and garden maintenance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education : High school graduate or GED
Skills : Must be able to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries. Requires ability to perform basic math, make change, and keep records accurately. Must be able to operate and maintain equipment and tools as directed. Exceptional customer service and human relations skills. Must be able to work independently. Must have the ability to deal effectively with a changing environment and be open to new ideas.
Years of Experience : Previous customer service experience
License : Valid driver's license and clean driving record, as demonstrated by a MVR in order to be covered under the Company's insurance policy. Chauffeurs license within one month of date of hire.
Certification : Food Handlers certification within 14 days of date of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Bachelor's Degree
Skills : Working Knowledge of local agricultural and food systems. Experience working with underserved populations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Personal Protective Equipment: Mask and gloves as needed
Physical Demands: Must be able to read and speak English. Must be able to lift, push or pull over 50 lbs on a routine basis. Frequent reaching/stooping/bending/kneeling/crouching. Frequent prolonged standing/walking/sitting. Must be able to tolerate a variety of weather conditions for prolonged periods of time, and both indoor and outdoor climates. Must be able to tolerate the Michigan climate, tolerating both heat and cold. May be exposed to inclement driving. Must be able to work with tools associated with gardening. Must be able to tolerate airborne irritants, dust, and other environmental irritants.
