Key Responsibilities

• Perform precise dimensional measurements using CMMs, optical comparators, and various hand tools.
• Calibrate, verify, and maintain metrology equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
• Analyze measurement data, interpret results, and generate detailed inspection reports.
• Develop, program, and validate CMM routines and other automated measurement sequences.
• Troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and provide technical support for manufacturing processes.
• Maintain traceability of measurement standards and ensure compliance with quality management systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve part conformance issues.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating and calibrating precision measuring equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers).
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Solid understanding of metrology principles, calibration standards, and measurement uncertainty.
• Experience with metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) and data analysis tools.
• Technical degree or certification in metrology, manufacturing technology, or a related engineering discipline.

Bonus Qualifications

• Advanced CMM programming proficiency (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and SPC application.
• Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for model-based inspection.
• Prior experience with non-contact measurement systems such as vision systems or laser scanners.
