Key Responsibilities

• Lead field construction for utility substation, transmission & distribution projects (12kV–500kV).
• Supervise contractors; ensure compliance with safety standards, drawings, and work packages.
• Drive a strong safety-first culture ; enforce OSHA, NESC, NEC, and NFPA standards.
• Manage outages, switching, clearances, and energization with system operations.
• Oversee installation, testing, and quality of substation & line equipment.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and project teams; lead site meetings.
• Track schedule, budget, materials, and resolve field issues or scope changes.
• Conduct safety briefings, audits, and ensure adherence to approved work methods.
• Travel extensively (85–90%) and support extended hours during outages/emergencies.

Skills & Experience

Required:

• 4 years in utility T&D/substation construction or field operations
• Strong knowledge of HV equipment, P&C systems, switching & safety procedures
• Ability to manage contractors and interpret technical drawings
• Strong communication & coordination skills

Preferred:

• Experience with utilities or capital projects (T&D/Substation)

Education

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering/Construction Management or equivalent experience
• Certifications like OSHA 30, PMP preferred
