Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable PM Dishwasher for The Vanguard Hotel in Ann Arbor , MI

Pay: $18.00 / hour

About the Role:

As a Steward at The Vanguard Hotel in Ann Arbor, MI, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas to ensure a seamless and hygienic food service operation. Your efforts will directly contribute to the overall guest experience by supporting the culinary and service teams with timely and efficient cleaning, dishwashing, and equipment maintenance. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to health and safety standards. You will be responsible for managing waste disposal and assisting with inventory control to help maintain operational flow. Ultimately, your role is vital in upholding the high standards of The Vanguard Hotel and ensuring a welcoming environment for both guests and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar steward or kitchen support role preferred but not required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Basic understanding of sanitation and food safety standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and cleaning procedures.
  • Certification in food safety or sanitation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Wash, clean, and sanitize all kitchen utensils, cookware, and dishware promptly and thoroughly.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and workstations to comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage of supplies.
  • Dispose of waste and recyclables in accordance with hotel policies and environmental guidelines.
  • Support kitchen staff by organizing and maintaining equipment and supplies to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the management team immediately.
  • Collaborate with culinary and service teams to ensure timely support during peak service hours.

The required skills such as attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are essential for maintaining the high cleanliness standards expected in a busy hotel kitchen. Physical stamina and time management skills enable the steward to handle demanding tasks and prioritize duties effectively throughout the shift.
