HARDSCAPE & HEAVY EQUIPMENT CREW LEADER

$20–$28/HR | FULL-TIME | EXPERIENCED CANDIDATES ONLY

Lightning Lawn & Landscape, part of ACE Outdoor Services , is hiring an experienced Hardscape & Heavy Equipment Crew Leader for our South Lyon/Brighton team.

This is a hands-on landscape construction and hardscape position for someone who knows how to operate equipment, build quality projects, and lead work in the field.

This is NOT a lawn mowing or lawn maintenance position.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Operate skid steers, mini excavators, and other landscape construction equipment
• Perform excavation, grading, site preparation, and finish work
• Install paver patios, walkways, retaining walls, stone, and other hardscape features
• Prepare proper bases and ensure correct elevations, drainage, and grading
• Lead and work alongside a landscape construction crew
• Review job scopes and ensure projects are completed according to plan
• Load, unload, and safely transport equipment and materials
• Maintain equipment and report repair or maintenance needs
• Identify jobsite challenges and make effective field decisions
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites
• Ensure completed work meets ACE Outdoor Services quality standards

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Previous hardscape or landscape construction experience required
• Skid steer and mini excavator experience required
• Experience installing pavers, retaining walls, patios, and similar projects
• Strong understanding of grading, base preparation, drainage, and elevations
• Ability to safely operate commercial landscape equipment
• Crew leadership or foreman experience strongly preferred
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to perform physical outdoor work in changing weather conditions
• Dependable, safety-focused, and able to take ownership of projects
• Strong attention to detail and quality
