College - University Activist Program Director
OBJECTIVE: Lead the development and execution of a dynamic statewide outreach strategy that inspires the next generation to engage, lead, and shape the future of the pro-life movement through college and university student groups and participation in Right to Life of Michigan initiatives, events, and affiliate activity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the expansion of Right to Life of Michigan's college and university outreach by developing innovative outreach strategies that engage college and university students, as well as young professionals.
- Equip and inspire RLM affiliates to launch, strengthen, and sustain vibrant programs that cultivate the next generation of pro-life leaders within their local communities.
- Recruit, develop, and empower emerging leaders by increasing student and young professional participation in RLM events, leadership opportunities, and affiliate boards.
- Provide strategic leadership for statewide events, including the Annual Conference, Planning Day, the Michigan March for Life, and other initiatives that engage and inspire the next generation.
- Identify, mentor, and support student and young professional leaders in launching new groups on campuses, within communities, and throughout professional networks.
- Expand educational and civic engagement opportunities by creating meaningful experiences that encourage students to advocate for life on their campuses and in their communities.
- Cultivate relationships with pro-life leaders and RLM-PAC-endorsed candidates to speak with students and young professionals about civic engagement and pro-life opportunities.
- Build and strengthen partnerships with local, state, and national organizations that share a commitment to engaging and developing young pro-life leaders.
- Serve as a dynamic ambassador for Right to Life of Michigan by speaking at schools, conferences, leadership trainings, and community events that educate and inspire the next generation.
- Partner with the MiGen Leads to coordinate and enhance student leadership programs, including the Oratory Contest, Youth Award, and other initiatives, while developing new opportunities that encourage leadership, creativity, and advocacy.
- Champion innovative communication and educational resources by evaluating existing materials, developing fresh content, and working with RLM Directors on expanding digital and in-person outreach to students and young professionals.
- Measure impact and drive continuous growth by establishing meaningful performance metrics and evaluating outcomes.
- Candidate will support the pro-life mission and goals of RLM in all interactions with other employees, third parties, and the public, and avoid any conduct that would undermine RLM's pro-life mission.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrates an initial understanding of and alignment with Right to Life of Michigan's mission, organizational priorities, and pro-life positions, along with a commitment to rapidly develop a comprehensive knowledge of RLM's messaging, programs, and strategic approach.
- Exceptional written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Professional, confident, and engaging public presence with the ability to effectively connect with diverse audiences.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Michigan. A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel independently are required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn and effectively use additional software applications and technology platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in education, communications, public relations, nonprofit leadership, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
