Job Title: Field Project Engineer

Job Description

The Project Engineer will support the Project Manager and Superintendent with daily jobsite operations for a large-scale, school renovation project. This role will focus heavily on document control, coordination, and field support, serving as a key liaison between the field and project management teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittals.
• Maintain organized project documentation and logs.
• Assist with trade coordination and provide day-to-day subcontractor support.
• Support the Superintendent with inspections, reports, and quality documentation.
• Assist with punch lists, closeout documentation, and turnover preparation.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent on daily project needs.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience as a project engineer or assistant project manager.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
• Proficiency in construction document control, including RFIs, submittals, logs, and drawings.
• Experience supporting Project Managers and Superintendents on active job sites.
• Ability to work onsite in a fast-paced renovation environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• K-12 or Higher Education project experience.
• Familiarity with punch lists and closeout documentation.
• Prior experience working on large, multi-phase projects valued at $50M or more.

Work Environment

The position requires 100% onsite presence for the LPS project. The work environment is fast-paced, focusing on commercial construction and general contracting. The team consists of approximately seven members, including Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Project Engineers. This role offers the opportunity to add a $130M school project to your project list.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, MI.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $65000.00/hr.
