Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Shift: 1st (Monday - Friday)

Pay: Up to $28-32/hr. (Based on experience)

Location: Allegan, MI

Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to support production operations and maintain facility infrastructure. The ideal candidate will perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and basic electrical systems, and respond quickly to breakdowns — ensuring efficient production flow, minimal downtime, and safe working conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production machines, CNC equipment, welders, compressors, and other shop tools to ensure operational reliability.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues — diagnose faults, replace worn or damaged parts, and restore equipment functionality.
• Maintain facility infrastructure, including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems, ensuring a safe and functional work environment.
• Perform equipment calibrations, adjustments, alignments, and part replacements as needed to keep machines in specification and production-ready condition.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or malfunctions, prioritizing repair tasks to minimize downtime and production delays.
• Keep accurate maintenance logs and records of all repairs, preventive work, part usage, and downtime events.
• Work closely with production staff to coordinate maintenance tasks around production schedules, ensuring machines were operating efficiently and production targets were met.
• Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies — order or restock parts as needed to support timely repairs and maintenance.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, machine repair, or related field.
• Prior experience in a metal fabrication facility required .
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills — with ability to work on pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently, prioritize work, and manage time effectively.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders as needed throughout the shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with CNC machinery maintenance.
• Welding and fabrication skills, including basic welding or metalwork.
• Previous experience implementing or following a preventive maintenance program.
• Certification or experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
