Manufacturing Engineer (Electrical & Electronic)
Location: Hybrid (4 days onsite / 1 day remote) with occasional full-time onsite plant support as required
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer (Electrical & Electronic) to lead the implementation and execution of in-station process control and testing systems throughout program development milestones.
This role will be responsible for developing and executing diagnostic test strategies, supporting manufacturing launch activities, and ensuring robust testing and validation of electrical and electronic vehicle systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive manufacturing, vehicle diagnostics, electrical systems, controls, and plant infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of in-station process control and diagnostic testing strategies.
- Support manufacturing and program launch activities related to electrical and electronic vehicle systems.
- Develop and improve End-of-Line (EOL) testing processes and diagnostic systems.
- Collaborate with product engineering, manufacturing operations, suppliers, and IT teams.
- Drive issue resolution using PFMEA and Failure Mode Avoidance methodologies.
- Support integration of Factory Information Systems (FIS) and plant communication networks.
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic manufacturing test issues.
- Monitor and improve testing efficiency, quality metrics, and process reliability.
- Support plant readiness and production launch activities.
- Create reports, presentations, and technical documentation for leadership and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience.
- Experience within automotive manufacturing environments.
- Experience managing suppliers and coordinating technical projects.
- Experience with vehicle electrical systems, EDS, modules, or electronic controls.
- Product development experience involving:
- Electrical Systems
- Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS)
- Vehicle Modules/Controllers
- Powertrain Systems
- Chassis Systems
- Strong proficiency with:
- Microsoft Excel
- PowerPoint
- Web-based reporting systems
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Understanding of PFMEA and Failure Mode Avoidance principles.
- Familiarity with plant IT infrastructure, server applications, and network design.
