Industrial Electrical Controls Technician
Job Description
Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Industrial Electrical Controls Technician to support proprietary CRC production equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role is focused on electrical installation, controls implementation, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability improvements.
This is not a PLC programming or controls engineering position. PLC programming and system design are handled by management. The right candidate will be strong on the floor: wiring, installing, troubleshooting, modifying equipment, identifying failure points, and helping improve uptime.
You will work closely with the R&D/Production Manager and maintenance team to support equipment upgrades, startups, shutdowns, changeovers, and long-term reliability improvements.
What You’ll Do
· Install, wire, troubleshoot, and modify industrial electrical and control systems
· Build and modify control panels
· Install and troubleshoot sensors, motors, relays, VFDs, actuators, and field devices
· Support physical implementation of equipment upgrades and control system improvements
· Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, cooling, air handling, and dust collection systems
· Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities
· Assist with production startups, shutdowns, equipment changeovers, and uptime issues
· Identify recurring equipment problems, failure risks, and practical improvement opportunities
· Communicate technical observations clearly to management and maintenance
Required Experience
· Hands-on industrial electrical and controls experience
· Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
· Experience troubleshooting motors, sensors, relays, VFDs, and pneumatic components
· Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
· Comfortable working in a manufacturing or industrial production environment
· Ability to work independently and follow through on assigned projects
Helpful, But Not Required
· Senior maintenance technician or industrial electrician background
· Experience working around PLC-controlled equipment
· Experience with cooling systems, dust collection systems, compressed air, or air handling equipment
· Experience building or modifying control panels
· Experience supporting custom or proprietary production equipment
Good Fit For Someone Who Is:
· Hands-on and mechanically curious
· Strong electrically, but not necessarily looking for an engineering desk role
· Comfortable troubleshooting equipment on the production floor
· Able to work with maintenance, production, and management
· Interested in improving equipment reliability, not just fixing the same problem repeatedly
Not the Right Fit If You Are Looking For:
· A PLC programming/design role
· A mostly office-based engineering position
· A general maintenance role with limited electrical/control work
