Reports To: Director of Marketing and Communication

Annual Salary: Exempt position, pay range is $60,000 - $75,000

Time Commitment: Full-Time

Office Location: Lansing office / Remote

Start Date:

Anticipated Travel: Up to 30% for affiliate meetings and professional development

Organization Description: Habitat for Humanity of Michigan is the state support organization for Michigan's 45 Habitat for Humanity affiliates which serve nearly every county in the state. HFHM's mission is to increase the capacity of Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Michigan to build or renovate homes in partnership with people in need. Position Description:

As the Fund Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing the fundraising program and increasing the organization's fundraising revenue through cultivating, soliciting, stewarding, and retaining donors. You will be responsible for building relationships with individuals, organizations, foundations, and the network of affiliates throughout the state. You will have a heart for the mission, be determined and unafraid to secure the necessary resources to fund the mission, and be relational in your approach.

General Responsibilities:

Capital giving for unrestricted fundraising

· Develop and implement donor cultivation and solicitation program

· Lead internal fund development team/s and serve on the Board's Fund Development Committee

· Develop, implement, measure progress for, and continually reimagine annual fundraising goals, objectives, and tactics to accomplish fund development and capacity-building initiatives including, and not limited to:

o Annual direct mail, social media, and online Giving Day campaigns.

o Corporate giving and sponsorships.

o Donor-giving circles, legacy society, and corresponding benefits.

o Major donors and planned giving.

o Stewardship and recognition activities include thank you notes and calls, giving circle benefits, impact reports, and other tactics that show appreciation.

· Develop and sustain productive relationships with major gift constituencies, including business and corporate sponsors and individual donors

· Direct and support the fundraising efforts of the Board, volunteers, and staff

· Develop and implement annual giving programs, including but not limited to direct mail, matching gifts, monthly giving, and online giving

· Assist with the management and effective use of Habitat Michigan's database relating to donors, donor recognition and fundraising activity

· Write, update and evaluate the annual fund development plan

Special events

· Direct planning and activities to support fundraising events and sponsorship cultivation for the annual state conference with committee volunteers

· Work with fundraiser committee volunteers to sustain and build signature event success

· Access community groups and businesses engaged in charitable giving opportunities through fundraisers

Planned Giving

· Work in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communication to support our planned giving program

· Integrate planned giving program with annual fund donor cultivation and solicitation efforts

Affiliate Support

· Serves as staff liaison to the Michigan Habitat network of affiliates

· Design and implement a shared vision for fundraising with Michigan affiliates

Additional Responsibilities

· Coordinates newsletter content related to resource development

· Seek out and schedule opportunities to make informational presentations to churches, businesses, civic organizations, and other community groups

· Develop relationships with the state nonprofit and philanthropic community for the purpose of informational exchange and support

Required Qualifications:

· Demonstrated experience in soliciting five-figure gifts and above from individual and corporate donors.

· Proven track record in securing five-figure and above grants and major donations.

· Exceptional organization and record-keeping, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.

· Broad knowledge of all aspects of a mature fundraising program.

· CRM/database proficiency with the ability to create reports, analyze donor data, and make strategic decisions based on that data.

· Interest in working for and partnering with mission-focused organizations centered on family, faith, affordable housing, and economic and racial justice.

· Able to work some evenings and weekends.

· Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 5+ years relevant experience.

· Valid Michigan driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Current CFRE Designation

· Capital Campaign experience

· Grant writing experience
