Job Overview

- Salary/Pay Rate: $23 - $25 per hour (Based on Experience) plus Performance Bonus and Profit Sharing.

The Opportunity
Step into a pivotal organizational role with a Top 50 U.S. electrical contractor. Reporting directly to the Office Manager, you will serve as the operational backbone of our Michigan office, ensuring seamless collaboration between leadership, estimators, project managers, and field teams. This position is perfect for an administrative professional who wants to master specialized construction workflows and grow a long-term career with a respected, family-owned organization.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Vice President, Project Managers, and Estimators to streamline daily business operations.
- Manage the estimation pipeline by assigning estimate numbers, processing bid proposals, maintaining the database, and distributing weekly bid schedules.
- Coordinate critical project compliance by creating subcontracts, tracking contract documents, and maintaining up-to-date contractor licenses and bonds.
- Execute financial administrative duties including preparing project billings, processing lien waivers, entering data into company software, and handling weekly payroll.
- Compile and distribute accurate certified payroll reports and weekly field manpower schedules in strict compliance with contract guidelines.
- Manage corporate administrative assets by auditing expense reports, ordering office supplies, and maintaining company field devices and credit cards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 1 to 3 years of professional administrative, clerical, or office support experience.
- Proven experience or strong familiarity working within the construction, engineering, or electrical trades industry.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage databases, and handle high-volume paperwork.
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and a quick adaptability to industry-specific tracking tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary for resolving payment conflicts, collecting accounts, and interfacing with clients.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Prior experience managing union construction documentation, certified payroll reports, or construction lien processes.
- Familiarity with corporate safety programs, quality control policies, and standard operating procedures within a corporate environment.
- Completion of an associate’s degree, business administrative program, or technical training certification.
