Remote Reading Tutor for U.S. Elementary Students
Position summary
- Employment type: Contract, remote (must be located in and authorized to work in the United States).
- Location: Remote within the United States, excluding California.
- Schedule: Flexible teaching opportunities Monday–Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
- Session length: Typically 30–40 minutes per small-group lesson (up to four students).
- Compensation: Up to $24/hour.

Key responsibilities
- Deliver structured, engaging small-group reading lessons via Zoom for up to four elementary students, following provided step-by-step curriculum and lesson plans.
- Maintain instructional fidelity to structured literacy and Science of Reading approaches.
- Monitor, document, and report student progress using established assessment tools and reporting procedures.
- Provide timely, actionable feedback to students and school partners to support continuous growth.
- Create and sustain a positive, orderly virtual learning environment that supports student engagement and growth.
- Participate in required training, curriculum orientation, and periodic coaching to ensure consistent instructional quality.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Authorization to work in the United States and residence within the U.S.
- Proficiency with Zoom and common digital teaching tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to connect effectively with elementary-aged students.
- Reliability in meeting scheduled sessions and maintaining professional standards in a remote instructional setting.
Preferred qualifications (not required)
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Degree or coursework in education, literacy, English, or a related field.
- Experience teaching early reading, phonics, or K–3 instruction and familiarity with structured literacy methods.
