Assistant Farmers' Market Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Farmers' Market Manager to assist our Farmers' Market Coordinator with providing oversight and leadership in a manner consistent with the mission and vision of the market. The market operates on Saturday mornings (May-Oct) and Tuesday afternoons (June-August), requiring onsite presence during all market hours, as well as occasional administrative duties during non-market hours.

Duties

• Market Operations : Assist with setting up and breaking down market infrastructure, including tents, tables and signage. Ensure the market area remains clean, organized, and safe for vendors and customers. Support farmers, volunteers, and vendors with set-up, troubleshooting, and logistics. Staff the "Information" table and manage shopper credit/debit and food assistance benefits transaction and record-keeping, as well as vendor token collection and record-keeping for reimbursement.
• Vendor Management : Ensure adherence to state and federal food safety rules and regulations and facilitate the table fee collection process.
• Community & Public Relations : Greet and assist customers, answering questions about vendors, farmers and market policies. Promote market programs such as SNAP benefits, food assistance, and special events. Address customer concerns or escalate issues to the Market Coordinator as necessary. Function as the primary spokesperson for the Market in the absence of the Market Coordinator, in cooperation with Township staff and Committee members.
• Administrative Support : Help track vendor attendance, collect stall fees, and keep records. Provide feedback on market operations and suggest improvements. Promote the market through social media. Draft accurate and professional meeting minutes
• Other : Facilitate and handle any other needs relating to the Farmer's Market that may arise occasionally.
