DQS is seeking Experienced Press Operators for an established manufacturing facility located in Howell, MI. As a Press Operator , your role is critical in producing high-quality materials according to specifications and ensuring the press is functioning smoothly. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of stamping presses, attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot issues.

Shift:

2nd Shift : 3pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday (weekends as needed

Responsibilities of the Die Setter / Press Operator:

• Understand the function of a progressive die system
• Safely and effectively start strip through die.
• Safely and effectively cut strip.
• Safely and effectively cycle press in inch mode.
• Understand locations of where die set-up equipment is stored (conveyors, clamps, chutes).
• Verify whether or not Die Sensors are functional.
• Go through and check Set-up before putting Press in continuous mode.
• Safely and effectively cycle press in continuous mode.
• Knowledgeable about the Press Cycle Counter.
• Knows the process of scrapping.
• Determine the proper scrap hopper for disposal of materials.
• Uses die block and understands why.
• Knows the importance of hourly checks of parts and what to do if the parts are suspect (potentially defective) or non-conforming (defective).
• Visually check each part for quality.
• Familiar with E-Stops and when to use.
• The purpose of different Die Protection Systems.
• Have the ability to obtain and maintain a forklift certificate.

Qualifications for Die Setter / Press Operators:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a press operator.
• Familiarity with various types of presses and their operation.
• Understand the function of a progressive die system
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
