Schedule : 19 hours per week | 2nd shift 2pm-10:15pm | Varies Monday - Friday | Every other weekend | No scheduling mandation
Department: Porter Hills Village | Assisted Living Department
Shift Premium: Weekend (Fri 11:00 pm - Sun 10:59 pm) $ 0.50
Key Responsibilities
- Passes medications and gives treatments.
- Obtains and records resident vital signs, weight, food, and fluid intake and output.
- Assist with medication refills, ordering, and inventory management to ensure an adequate supply of medications is available.
- Assists new residents and families in the orientation process.
- Assist with daily health monitoring, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and providing personal care as needed.
- Assists all residents with activities of daily living, as needed.
- Assists residents in preparing for activities, social programs, and transporting.
- Interacts with residents in friendly manner while structuring their day and monitoring their needs.
- Maintains accurate documentation in resident’s charts and in the Electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR).
- Assists with meal service.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of medication passing experience in a healthcare setting.
- Previous experience as a caregiver in a healthcare setting, preferably with seniors or in long-term care.
- Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighting up to 35 pounds without assistance.
- Previous working knowledge of Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) systems, preferred.
