RTK - Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer. This position is with a small, established team based in the DFW area, offering a collaborative and relaxed work environment that fosters innovation. The primary workplace for this position is Aechelon Technology’s Farmer's Branch, TX location.
United States citizenship required due to restrictions on access to certain data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining application-level software that simulates airborne radar systems and other sensors for use in a variety of training devices. The software is written in the C++ programming language on Windows and Linux platforms.
 -  Responsible for performing tasks related to the following areas: 
- Software Design
 - Software Implementation
 - Technical Documentation
 - Team Collaboration
 - Customer Interaction
 - Software Integration and Testing
 - Task Planning and Schedule Estimating
 
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
- 5+ years of experience in software development using C/C++
 - Strong understanding of real-time application programming
 - Expertise in cross-platform development (Windows & Linux)
 - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
 - Strong foundation and mathematics and physics
 - Ability to work with export-controlled technology
 
DESIRED COMPETENCIES
-  Technical Expertise: 
- Knowledge of radar technology and signal processing
 - Experience with OpenGL and graphics application programming
 - Background in real-time, multi-processing systems
 - Familiarity with tools for geographic data processing (e.g. KML, vector files, digital elevation models, satellite imagery)
 
 -  Developmental Tools & Practices 
- Experience with defect tracking systems (Bugzilla, Jira)
 - Proficiency with configuration management tools (Preforce, Git)
 - Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation
 
 -  Industry Experience 
- Prior experience in training and simulation industry
 - Willingness to adapt in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

REQUIRED EDUCATION, ELIGIBILITY AND EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical field
