Salary Range: $72,000 - $111,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize product designs using CAD software and engineering principles.
• Conduct engineering analysis (e.g., FEA, stress analysis) to validate design integrity and performance.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
• Support the prototyping, testing, and validation phases of new product development.
• Investigate and resolve design-related production issues and non-conformances.
• Select appropriate materials and components based on performance, cost, and manufacturing requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and their impact on design
• Proficient application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
• Knowledge of material properties, selection, and application in a manufacturing context
• Proven ability to analyze design problems and develop innovative, manufacturable solutions
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing, CNC machining).
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency with advanced FEA/simulation software (e.g., Ansys, Abaqus).
