PCU Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Dayton, Ohio (45409) – Ohio nursing jobs
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Trauma Unit (ME4 IP TRAUMA UNIT)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens, Travel Registered Nurse
• Contract Duration: 20 weeks (option for 13 weeks available)
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: February 2, 2026
• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (overtime paid after 48 hours for 48-hour contracts)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1950 - $2000
• Patient Ratios: Targeted 1:4, may be up to 1:5-6
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Required (every other weekend/holiday)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (any state; compact nursing license accepted)
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent PCU nursing experience (Level 1 or 2 trauma preferred)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Must pass online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to start
• Experience with stable chronic ventilators
• IV start skills preferred
• Prior travel nurse experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to float to other units or campuses as needed
• Must be fitted for N95 or PAPR prior to working on HRRU unit

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics with multi-system trauma and complex medical conditions
• Manage patients with tracheostomies, ventilators, quadriplegia, brain injuries, and orthopedic injuries
• Perform wound care, chest tube management, and administer pain medications
• Utilize advanced clinical skills: arterial line management, central/PICC line care, titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips, blood product administration
• Follow infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services, and more)
• Float to other nursing units or campuses as assigned to support clinical teams
• Complete required compliance modules and competency assessments within designated timeframes
