X-Ray Technician – Orthopedic Office

Location: Oakland County, Michigan
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports to: Office Manager / Physician

We are a busy, patient-focused orthopedic, podiatry, and pain medicine practice located in Oakland County, MI, dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality care. Our clinic specializes in musculoskeletal disorders and injuries, offering diagnostic imaging, advanced treatments, and personalized rehabilitation services. We are seeking a skilled and dependable X-Ray Technician to join our dynamic team.

The X-Ray Technician performs diagnostic imaging procedures to assist orthopedic providers in the evaluation and treatment of patients. This individual must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a high level of professionalism, patient care, and technical accuracy.

• Perform diagnostic radiologic exams as ordered by orthopedic providers, including extremity, spine, and joint imaging

• Ensure proper positioning and technique to obtain high-quality images with minimal radiation exposure

• Verify physician orders and patient identification in accordance with compliance guidelines

• Maintain accurate imaging records and assist with uploading images into EMR/PACS

• Prepare and assist patients for procedures, explaining the process and ensuring comfort

• Maintain and calibrate X-ray equipment to ensure safety and optimal performance

• Follow infection control and radiation safety protocols

• Support clinical team with occasional back-office duties as needed (e.g., rooming patients, assisting with casting/splinting)

• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and front office staff to ensure efficient workflow

• Maintain continuing education and current certifications as required
  
  

• Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

  • Current ARRT certification (R) and valid State of Michigan Radiologic Technologist license

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

• Preferred:

  • 1+ year of experience in an orthopedic or outpatient setting

  • Familiarity with PACS, EMR systems (e.g., Athenahealth or EPIC)

  • Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and orthopedic imaging best practices

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, day shift (no weekends or holidays)
