Reports To: The Quality Manager or Designee

Location: Saint Joseph, MI

Your Mission

As our Product Quality Assurance Inspector, you will champion the quality improvements in our manufacturing units. By navigating calipers and micrometers adeptly, alongside well-honed inspection skills, you'll play a pivotal role in driving quality excellence to meet our customers' expectations while curbing quality-related costs.

Daily Adventures

• Take charge in interpreting engineering drawings, ensuring all standards are adhered to during the manufacturing process.
• Lead In Process Inspections, tackling common and known issues at designated stages.
• Oversee "Receiving Inspections" focused on supplied component issues.
• Propose system or standard modifications for heightened quality and operational efficiency.
• Quickly resolve urgent quality matters with the Quality Manager.
• Contain and manage nonconforming materials effectively.
• Use a gamut of tools to measure and evaluate components, from assembled to supplied parts.
• Assist external 3rd Party calibration providers as appropriate.
• Generate NCRs providing detailed defect reports and images as support to Purchasing.
• Ensure a clean, structured Non-Conforming Material area.
• Participate in the daily review and processing of manufacturing and supplier scraps.
• Partake in releasing parts from Quality Hold for shipping as required.
• Contribute significantly to data accumulation for COPQ metrics.
• Contribute to the ISC team, alongside engineering, purchasing, and product management.
• Engage with additional projects and assignments linked to your expertise.

Qualities We Value

• High school diploma necessity; Certified Quality Technician is an added advantage.
• Experience spanning 1-3 years in distribution or manufacturing operations, with 3-5 years in Incoming Process Control mandated.
• Inspector competencies with another 1-3 years of focused inspection experience.

• Capacity to write comprehensive reports and conduct effective presentations.
• Numerical literacy: adept in various mathematical operations and data representation.
