About the Role

As an engineering intern, you'll support Granger's Engineering Department across a variety of projects related to management of waste, infrastructure, environmental compliance and data analysis. This role is designed for an eager, motivated engineering student who wants practical, real-world experience applying classroom knowledge to active projects.

You'll work alongside experienced professionals and gain exposure to civil and environmental engineering concepts, digital sensing and alerting, remote monitoring systems and field operations. Success in this role comes from curiosity, accountability and a strong desire to learn.

What You'll Do

• Assist with updating and maintaining AutoCAD drawings, including landfill and facility plans
• Enter and analyze land survey as-built data for infrastructure location and installation
• Support regulatory and technical projects related to landfill gas systems and emissions controls
• Assist with APC certification preparation and documentation
• Help develop and review landfill gas control and monitoring plans
• Conduct targeted research related to landfill gas flare operations and performance
• Analyze data from various systems to identify trends, equipment wear and operational risks
• Participate in field-related activities to gain hands-on understanding of routine operations
• Support the Engineering Department with data collection, analysis, project development and design

What We're Looking For

• Current college student in junior or senior year with at least two years of coursework completed
• Pursuing a degree in civil, environmental or bioscience-related engineering from an accredited institution
• Strong communication skills and understanding of mathematics and general engineering principles
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Michigan
• Letters of recommendation preferred
