APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Benton Harbor, MI looking to add a CMM Quality Technician to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to inspect and verify parts to ensure they meet quality standards. Keep reading for more details!

  • Rotating 3- and 4-day work weeks.
  • Week A: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

What your day will look like:

• Operate CMMs and FCS fixtures per Product Control Plans to perform part inspections, interpret dimensional results, and validate visual part quality requirements.
• Perform additional gauging not covered by CMM inspections; escalate and document out-of-tolerance results for disposition, root cause analysis, corrective action, and containment as required.
• Tag, track, and manage nonconforming material; determine cut-off points for back purges when necessary, and provide feedback to leads and supervisors to correct issues.
• Monitor and document production scrap, setup scrap, and defects every 2–3 hours, maintaining accurate records of all dispositions.
• Review job documentation and report any deviations from blueprints, PCIs, or work instructions; communicate quality standards and requirements effectively to others.
• Assist with product launches, PPAPs, machine setups, prototype inspections, and related documentation as requested by Quality leadership.
• Perform incoming material inspections to validate raw material chemistry (as backup) and conduct quality audits on the production floor, including foundry, casting cells, and X-rays (as backup to quality technicians).
• Support document control functions through scanning and filing of paperwork.
• Work collaboratively with production employees to uphold high quality standards and resolve quality issues as they arise.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of manufacturing operations and company goals.

What we are looking for:

• Previous manufacturing experience in a CMM role
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Familiar with OSHA, EPA, and industry standards
• Must pass color vision test
