Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support within our medical facility. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service, and clinical procedures. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of our practice, contributing to both outpatient and inpatient care.

Duties

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patient reactions.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with medical coding standards, including ICD coding.
• Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic tests as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with team members in various departments such as dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and emergency medicine.
• Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
• Exhibit knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient education regarding health conditions.

Skills

• Proficiency in EHR systems for effective documentation and patient management.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to various specialties including geriatrics, internal medicine, and medical-surgical care.
• Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) procedures confidently.
• Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols and practices.
• Knowledge of vital signs assessment techniques and medication administration procedures.
