10-20hours/week

_ M-F / 8-5pm; 8-12pm and 1-5pm _

WHAT IS KIDOKINETICS?

Kidokinetics is the ultimate athletic enrichment program that introduces young students to various sports in a hands-on, interactive, and non-competitive environment. Our coaches bring over 20 sports and endless activities to childcare centers, afterschool programs, weekend enrichment classes, and sports camps, providing a solid experience for kids ages 1-12. With high-quality equipment and custom programming, we aim to create enthusiasm for being active, leaving young athletes eagerly anticipating the next class!

WHAT DOES A DAY IN LIFE LOOK LIKE? SUMMER CAMP VERSION

At one of our various camp locations, you will be responsible for checking kids in, executing the daily lesson plan – including playing sports, games, crafts and free time! Monitor and correct behavior and ensure each camper feels safe, comfortable and excited for the next day! No specific sports experience is required!

At several of our partners (daycares and community ed/parks and rec) the coach is responsible for creating the lesson plan and deliver 30 -90 minute classes to kids ages 2-11. The coach will also engage with daycare and preschool owners to maintain relationships, ensuring that Kidokinetics is always outperforming!

Future opportunities included growing into a head coach position, managing equipment, business development, and many other business, strategic, and operational activities!

REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:

· Previous experience with children – Preferred

· High School diploma

· Valid driver’s license

· Ability to pass a level 2 background check

· Reliable transportation is a must as we are a mobile program

· Preferred: CPR certification

WORK LOCATIONS INCLUDE:

· Dexter, Ann Arbor, Saline, Canton, Plymouth, Northville, Farmington Hills, Novi

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Programs offered indoors and outdoors.
• Requires long periods of standing and activity (running, jumping, sitting, standing, pushing, walking, kneeling, etc)
• Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.

WHY KIDOKINETICS?

✓ Develops fine and gross motor skills while building coordination, balance, confidence, and more in kids 18 months and up!

✓ Allows children to participate in sports and physical activities without worrying about competition. It also allows children participating in competitive sports to practice, develop their skills, and enhance their fitness and coordination.

✓ Teaches ball skills and other physical exercises, enabling them to be competent at the basics of over 20 different sports. (See the bottom to view the large array of sports!)

✓ Children ages 3 and up will learn a new anatomy/physiology fact during each class in which we focus on muscles, heart, and lungs as they relate to exercise

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans and arrives to each class prepared with the appropriate lesson plans, equipment, supplies and other materials to deliver the program
• Conducts classes in an enthusiastic, nurturing and safe manner
• Makes every effort to connect one-on-one with each child
• Addresses concerns or special needs for children and caregivers
• Proper use of time tracking and parent communication app to share the FUN with the parents and caregivers
• Is a good role model for young children physically, emotionally, and socially
• Works as part of a team
• Provides an environment of acceptance that supports and respects cultural differences
• Sets clear, consistent limits, has realistic expectations, and uses positive methods of child guidance
• Provides opportunities for each child to develop feelings of competence, self-esteem, and a positive attitude toward physical activity and learning
• Participates in training to improve skills and professional competencies
