Distribution Shipping Workflow Coordinator

An urgent customer order hits your queue in Grand Rapids, MI. You confirm inventory, align with the warehouse on staging, generate a clean bill of lading, and book the right carrier window. While the freight is en route, you track progress, anticipate delays, and keep stakeholders informed. The result: an on-time delivery and a happier customer—because you owned the workflow end-to-end.
Your Mission
- Direct the start-to-finish shipping process to ensure accuracy and speed.
- Create shipping paperwork (bills of lading, labeling, and customs documentation).
- Coordinate with carriers and suppliers for pickups and deliveries.
- Monitor shipment milestones and resolve in-transit challenges.
- Maintain thorough shipment logs and tie-outs with inventory.
- Collaborate closely with warehouse teams to meet fulfillment timelines.
- Continuously refine procedures to boost efficiency and consistency.
- Pitch in on inventory management and replenishment as needed.
Must-Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- Chauffeur's license required.
- Box truck driving experience required.
- Demonstrated experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain.
- Strong organization, precision, and communication skills.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office (Excel) and shipping software tools.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and customs is a plus.
