Maintenance Technician (Schoolcraft)

SUMMARY

• Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties. This position may require overtime to include weekends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains a preventive maintenance program.
• Observes mechanical components with both visual and/or electronic devices in operation to determine root cause of equipment failure/malfunction.
• Document all repairs on equipment.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
• Interprets specifications and blueprints.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment in order to increase equipment life.
• May work in other areas of either plant based on production requirements.
• May be required to work off shifts as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation details: 20-27 Hourly Wage
