Overview - Wednesday through Saturday, 10:30am until 4:30pm
The Brightside of Waterford is seeking an experienced server to run front of house operations! We are a small but fast-growing restaurant with plenty of opportunity for growth within the role! We are looking for someone who can be excited about our menu and share in the enthusiasm about our great food quality when speaking to guests. You will be required to greet guests upon arrival, seat them and bring them drinks, take their orders and bring their food, ring them up on the POS system, answer phones for carryout orders and package them according to our standards, as well as other duties within the expectations of a server role.

Duties

• Greet guests as they enter, ensuring they feel welcome from the start, seat them and give them menus, inform them of daily specials, bring drinks, take orders, and ensure overall guest satisfaction by providing a wholly unique Brightside experience
• Upsell menu items with a genuine approach, displaying product knowledge and helping guests find new favorites and reasons to keep returning
• Run the point-of-sale system to ring up guests, whether paying by cash or card
• Answer phone during restaurant open hours, directing calls to the manager as needed or taking carryout orders, packaging them and ensuring they are filed properly within the hotbox
• Maintain communication with kitchen staff, ensuring every order is prepared accurately and maintains our standards for preparation
• Maintain cleanliness of front-of-house, including clearing and resetting tables after guests leave, emptying trash at end of shift, ensuring lobby counter remains clear and other duties expected within a server role

Requirements

• Previous experience as a server in a fast-paced setting
• Previous sales experience is preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable with using touch-screen tablets and operating POS system
• Ability to be enthusiastic about not only the food, but our unique approach to the entire menu
