Responsibilities:

• Client Consultation: Greet clients, discuss their hair goals, and provide expert recommendations on styles, cuts, and colors that suit their face shape, hair type, and lifestyle.

• Hair Services: Perform a wide range of services including:

  • Shampooing, conditioning, and scalp treatments.

  • Haircutting, trimming, and shaving using various tools like scissors, clippers, and razors.

  • Coloring services such as highlights, balayage, ombre, and single-process color.

  • Styling hair using techniques like blow-drying, curling, and straightening.

  • Chemical treatments like perms and keratin smoothing.

  • Creating formal hairstyles for special events (e.g., weddings, proms).

• Customer Service: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their satisfaction and encourage repeat business. This includes managing appointments, accommodating walk-ins, and creating a comfortable and positive salon experience.

• Product Knowledge and Sales: Educate clients on proper hair care and recommend professional products for at-home maintenance. Cross-sell and upsell products and services.

• Hygiene and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Sanitize all tools and equipment according to salon policies and state regulations.

• Staying Current: Stay up-to-date with the latest hair trends, techniques, and products through continuous learning and professional development.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education and Licensing:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Completion of a state-approved cosmetology or barber program.

  • Valid state-mandated cosmetology or barber license.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in a variety of cutting, coloring, and styling techniques.

  • Hands-on experience with a wide range of hair tools and products.

  • Knowledge of different hair types, textures, and conditions.

• Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Active listening skills to understand client needs and preferences.

  • Creativity and a good eye for design.

  • Strong customer service skills.
