Merritt Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Social Studies Teacher to join our close-knit school community. This position is ideal for an educator who values small class sizes, strong student relationships, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Position Overview
The Social Studies Teacher will teach high school courses such as World History, Geography, Current Events depending on experience and school needs. Our small class sizes allow teachers to focus on individualized instruction and meaningful discussion-based learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned social studies instruction
• Foster critical thinking, historical inquiry, and civic awareness
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Assess student learning and provide timely feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to school activities
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to working with students in a rural school setting
• Prior teaching experience preferred but not required

Pay: $48,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
