Job Description

  • Provide on-site/CTC support for battery pack and engine related activities.
  • Coordinate and run vehicle testing at proving grounds.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing on battery pack and engine components.
  • Prepare shippers for parts to be sent to STLA and supplier locations.
  • Interface with cross functional team to design and develop functional solutions that achieve design requirements & to ensure proper design interfaces with other components, and all requirements are met.
  • Work with other functions Design / Releasing teams to ensure consistency in requirements, standards, and practices across programs.
  • Translate Functional Objectives into technical requirements and solutions.
  • Create and analyze alternative design concepts.
  • Integrating system components.
  • Own and update Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR), and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) - ensure functional objectives, guidelines and corporate requirements are met.
  • Cost value analysis and opportunities.
  • Develop timelines and drive programs to meet deliverables.
  • Manage Tier I suppliers and hardware designs to meet program timing and deliverables.
  • Interface with stakeholders at all levels including vehicle teams, validation, requirement leads, technical specialists, leadership, and develop robust functional designs.
  • Present action plans with status/risks to get and keep programs on track.
  • Follow, track and root cause build issues found during pre-production builds, prior to launch of the program and warranty analysis of all the components after the launch.
  • Concept Design and feasibility studies.
  • Support resolution & design updates of vehicle packaging, logbook and manufacturing feasibility issues.
  • Clearly communicate component status and issues in MS-Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Early Computer Aided Design (CAD) creation and development prior to supplier award & onboarding.
  • Generate CAD and 2D drawings for components including GD&T.
  • Work with Prototype Build Engineering to procure long lead components and coordinate sample requests for component suppliers
  • Work with designers to develop packaging and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with designers and support teams to ensure all necessary Teamcenter tasks are completed. 
  • Attend design reviews/coordination meetings. 
  • Provide program deliverables on time per major development milestones.
  • Provide build and launch support as needed.
  • Track current production warranty and assist in root cause investigations.
  • Author and submit source packages on time to support product plans.
  • Pull and manage part numbers.
  • Execute design for manufacturing process and coordinate assembly process with manufacturing engineering.
  • Point of contact on-site/CTC for all engine and battery pack hardware issues.
  • Lead initial root cause analysis and support through closure.
  • Lead and process Change Management.
Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical design and CAD modeling skills (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks)

  • Proficient in DFMEA, DVPR, GD&T, and engineering documentation

  • Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and root cause analysis

  • Ability to manage timelines, suppliers, and cross-functional collaboration

  • Skilled in communicating technical info using MS Office tools

  • Knowledge of product development lifecycle and change management

  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills

  • Effective communicator and team player across engineering disciplines
