Engineering manager

As a Mobile Engineering Leader at Rocket, you'll lead a talented team of iOS and Android engineers focused on revolutionizing the mortgage origination experience through our native mobile applications. You will drive innovation that enables clients to complete transactions faster and more efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of trust and effectiveness. Your technical expertise combined with your leadership skills will empower your team to create seamless mobile experiences that dramatically reduce closing times and increase app adoption among clients.

About The Role

• Lead a team of 4-6 engineers (iOS, Android) focused on the origination and transaction components of the Rocket product
• Collaborate closely with product management and design partners to define and execute the mobile product roadmap
• Drive planning, goal setting, and metrics ownership while fostering a data-fluent culture within your team
• Empower engineers to innovate through experimentation while maintaining high standards for code quality and user experience
• Develop strategies to dramatically reduce mortgage closing times through improved mobile experiences
• Champion native app adoption and optimize task completion rates throughout the origination process
• Balance technical leadership with people management to ensure both product excellence and team growth
  
  

About You

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering experience in either iOS or Android development (depth in one platform required)
• 5+ years of technology leadership experience
• Strong understanding of mobile development principles, patterns, and best practices
• Experience setting team goals, tracking metrics, and making data-driven decisions
• Proven ability to balance technical excellence with business objectives
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Swift/SwiftUI for iOS or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose for Android
• Familiarity with GraphQL and modern mobile service architectures
• Background in financial technology or mortgage industry
• Experience managing distributed engineering teams
• Track record of performance management and career development for technical teams
